Tangens Motion is a new creative language for expressing motion spatially by directly manipulating elements inside of videos.
Current Status
It's on the App Store with the final interface (UI) and an initial version of our AI model. 380 downloads, 10 free trials, 2 monthly paying users in 2 weeks.
Also interviewed 100 creators who resonated with the need of more direct control over their animations. But they want more complex animations, which validates our next milestone of building our own AI model.
Problem or Opportunity
A production-ready AI animated video takes 10+ generations with 200+ words for each prompt. Creators fight the AI with text to get what they want and many people simply stop at the first generation.
Solution (product or service)
AI needs a better interface. We are building a new creative language where you can directly interact with every element in your video. Touch it, move it, done. Our AI model will perform the right animation and correct imperfections.
Competitors
Pro motion graphics tools - Adobe After Effects, DaVinci, Alight Motion These are the de-facto tools for motion graphics. You can do basically any video, but if you take a considerable amount of time and effort.
GenAI tools - Higgsfield AI Vibe Motion, Remotion New AI based tools. Good for simple 5 seconds graph animations, logo animations. You can't interact with the video directly: you are stuck with either prompts or code.
Advantages or differentiators
Basic animation isn't enough for us. Smooth animation is what we want. All of the competitors don't incorporate "smoothness" by default in their tools. You have to do it from scratch by keyframing on a frame by frame basis. We are the only ones in the market who is fixing this problem with a new interaction involving gestures and natural language.
Business model
Freemium. The flagship animations require a $9.99 monthly subscription. Eventually it will have a $19.99/month plan for 3D and character animations and a $24.99/month plan for team collaboration on projects.
Money will be spent on
65% on product development. Training our own AI model with different animation styles, finish the main interface components, and test. 15% on GTM. Influencer collaborations and marketing, community growth, build-in-public. Rest on legal and misc things.
