Problem or Opportunity
90% of all vision loss cases can be prevented with early diagnosis. However most of the cases are still not prevented because eye exam is inconvenient or not affordable. Screening programs proved to be barely cost effective according to Deloitte analysis. Screening programs cover a small fraction of the population and omit all other diseases except one targeted disease. The rest of the population stays unscreened. Screened population still stays in the risk group a few years after the screening.
Eye diseases progress slowly and treatment is required a few years later.
Solution (product or service)
Artificial Intelligence in EyeCheckup analyses retinal diseases quickly and cost-effectively.
EyeCheckup is a permanent stationary solution used at Optometry, Community Centers, and primary care settings allowing annual screening of the entire population.
Citizens can check their retina for vision-threatening condition conveniently at any optics store. The Community Centers can increase their HEDIS score by providing eye screening services that are reimbursed by Medicare.
EyeCheckup has integrations with various EMR systems including VA VistA, Epic, and others.
Business model
SaaS subscription model will be used by Primary Care or Optometry covering the entire population.
