Clinical decision support tool utilizing a mobile thermal imaging camera and applies AI to detect anomalies related to vascular conditions and some inflammatory and oncology diseases.
Current Status
*Machine Learning and Software Backend for data collection developed
*Mobile application for thermal data collection developed
*Obtain all needed clearances for massive data collection and pre-clinical study
*3 hospital collaborations for data collection signed (Bulgaria, Slovenia)
*800+ images with 100% specificity collected
Problem or Opportunity
*Lack of remote solutions for screening and monitoring for 202M people with PAD which is characterised by 50% asymptomatic patients
*Late diagnosis often leads to amputations and life-threatening CLI for 22M people with over 45% 5-year mortality rate and $200B burden in US alone
*ABI (Ankle - Brachial Index) has reportedly given many false positives leading to unnecessary and expensive angiography procedures
*Non-invasive diagnostic methods such as doppler ultrasound are counter-indicative for diabetics due to medial arterial calcification
Solution (product or service)
Kelvin Health applies a mobile thermal imaging camera that captures local body heat, the the thermal image is then segmented and AI is applied to detect anomalies related to cardiovascular diseases. The process constantly evolves by applying machine learning on the continuously growing data from its utilisation. The approach lies on the fact that local body temperature is directly related to blood flow and a lasting change is typically caused by either an inflammation, a spasm or a change in the vascular system.
Business model
Once we get regulatory approval, we are ready to start penetrating the middle east market where diabetes is very prevalent unfortunately.
We provide the hardware at cost to specialists who pay for the software per examination.
After expanding to more therapeutic areas and regions we will empower directly the patient who will pay a monthly fee themselves or via their medical insurance.
