Idea

Kayan Health is a unified and integrated healthcare SaaS platform that enables patients to triage their own symptoms, integrates with wearable devices to bring the patient’s vital data into a holistic patient profile and monitors their health and provides them with access to medical advice when necessary. Thus helping doctors and clinics streamline patient monitoring and communications, delivering a patient centred approach to medicine giving them a voice in the healthcare process.

Current Status

We have signed a partnership and investment agreement with Black Pearly Global Investment to run multiple pilots over the next 12 months.

First pilot is a mental health telemedicine platform funded by the city of Charlotte, supporting local entrepreneurs by connecting them with mental health specialists and therapists. We will be rolling it out to 100 Entrepreneurs and Small Business Owners early September and will be scaling it further over the next few months.

Another pilot is to support a clinic move online by providing them with a white-labelled telemedicine platform that they can use with their own patients for secure communication.

Third potential pilot is with a home care agency that seeks to monitor their clients by distributing a fitbit device and integrating it with the platform having it monitor their health vitals and get notified when something is out of the ordinary.

Market

We work with clinics and concierge doctors, we work with telehealth clinics and any kind of physical clinic that is looking to move to digitize their communication with their patients and remotely monitor them and we work with governments and NGOs through our social initiative.

Problem or Opportunity

Patients today, when struggling with a non-urgent health issue, either google their symptom (which mostly leads to cancer) or speak to a doctor (physically or virtually) - over 75% of which are non-urgent and don’t require any medication or treatment.

With patients’ increased access to technology, they can easily manage their own healthcare through self-triage and getting the answers they need from certified Doctors about those minor & non-urgent health issues (instead of googling it).

In addition, they rely on different tools to monitor their health through smart watches, scales and other diagnostic tools (such as smart thermometers). The problem with that is they function in silos, they provide no context to the person, doctors don't have access to this data in a central location and there is no method to monitor and continuously learn from this data. With Kayan Health, our goal is provide a platform that provides a solution all these challenges.

Solution (product or service)

We are a patient-centred holistic healthcare platform that integrates with different wearable devices and diagnostic tools in addition to EMR systems to bring in vital patient information into a secure patient profile. Giving patients access to their own data, remotely monitor them and proactively support them. In addition, provide them with the ability to chat with their medical specialist through a secure telemedicine system.

Most other platforms are either focused on a single condition, or a closed ecosystem that integrates with one product. We are technology agnostic and able to digitally transform any healthcare organisation and help them better monitor their patients and communicate with them.

Competitors

It’s an open space and there are different players working across different business models. There aren’t many platforms are dedicated to solve the key problems we intend to solve. They are either telemedicine platforms with a B2B focus or symptom checking and triage platforms - those that combine both in addition to the integration with wearable devices to streamline vital data are few.
