Modular (semi)-autonomous low-cost transport robot without installation effort - "the iPhone for payloads" in a RaaS, SaaS, rental/sales and maintenance business model.
Current Status
Two fully functional prototypes available. Test phases of several weeks completed. Talks with potential suppliers and partner companies are underway. Pilot projects for B2B applications (retirement home, rehabilitation clinic, hospital) currently in planning. LOIs from various companies/industries available. Start of small series 2020 with basic module and 2-3 Top Modules.
Market
B2C market in health care (DACH region): approx. 20 million potential users - temporary/permanently handicapped persons - demarcated: approx. 1 million /year or 1.5 million permanently (e.g. after operations knee, hip, arms; fractures, cancer, etc. / stroke, MS, Parkinson's disease, geriatrics, etc.) - A total of approx. 14 million people aged over 70 (goal: to be at home independently for as long as possible)
B2B applications: Senior citizens' homes, assisted living, clinics and rehabilitation centres: - In total, over 2000 institutional facilities that benefit greatly from CAREcules
Problem or Opportunity
B2C problem: People with chronic diseases (MS, Parkinson, etc.), after a stroke or a fracture, etc. have problems and risks at home when transporting objects (e.g. food, laundry, newspapers, documents, etc.). The same problems occur with the aging 70+ generation. CAREcules enables the user to concentrate fully on safe locomotion. Thus the user has the possibility to be more independent in everyday life again. Relatives and nursing staff are relieved and the risk of falls/consequential injuries is reduced.
Applications in B2B: Problem - lack of skilled workers in service and care. Application in retirement homes, hospitals and rehabilitation centres to support and relieve nursing and service personnel. For example in the serving the patients in the dining room, as autonomous care-cart during rounds, equipped with training tools or care items and for general transport in order to save distances.
Solution (product or service)
Modular (semi-)autonomous transport robot for a transport weight of approx. 25 kg without installation/equipment costs. Cm-accurate indoor navigation without camera system and exact Follow-Me tracking. Sensor refinement & extended environmental awareness through AI assistance algorithms. Low-vibration overcoming of heels up to 15 mm. Height adjustable up to 100cm. Open APIs for 3rd party software and hardware add-ons. Safe, intelligent and reliable state-of-the-art robotics technology (ROS, LIDAR, etc.) at a price of around €3,000.
Vibration free transport; focus on users privacy; stand alone product; indoor navigation without installation effort;
