We are bringing to the market the catalytic hydrothermal gasification, an innovative technology that transforms any liquid waste into a revenue by producing methane-rich gas, clean water and minerals.

The technology is currently at pilot scale. Together with PSI, we completed the commissioning of a pilot unit (100 kg/h) with which we have processed glycerol solutions and sewage sludge. We are now manufacturing a transportable unit that will be installed at a customer site for the validation of the technology in a real environment.
In addition, we own a laboratory prototype where we perform feasibility studies. We are continuously testing different liquid wastes to expand our relevant market. Until now, we have successfully processed 14 different feedstocks (5 from top leading industries).

Population increase and economic development are generating ever-greater volumes of wastewater which current technologies are not treating efficiently resulting in 2.8% of global CO2eq emissions, the waste of resources (125 TWh biogas and 341 ktons wasted each year in the EU) and water scarcity due to low reuse.

WWTPs are seeking urgently for cost-efficient and clean disposal solutions. Also, industrial sectors such as chemical and food & beverage, are shifting towards net zero emissions and are in need of renewable gas to fuel their processes and decrease their dependency on fossil gas.

TreaTech aims at offering a service to treat any liquid waste transforming it from a hefty expense into a revenue source thanks to our innovative technology, the catalytic hydrothermal gasification, that transforms 99% of the organics in the waste into methane-rich renewable gas and recovers clean water and minerals that can be further upgraded to fertilisers.

TreaTech’s technology is a true contributor to the circular economy as it generates 3x more energy than it consumes (net positive generator of clean energy), recovers 90% of the treated water, and recovers > 90% of finite nutrients.

We envision an adaptable business model with several routes to monetization. Our main customers are municipal and industrial WWTPs and other liquid wastes such as industrial wastewater, biomass residues, manure, plastic manufacturing residues and food and beverages wastes. We plan to offer a 20+ year service agreement in which the client co-invests in a unit at sale via a down payment at signing. TreaTech receives 100% of the auxiliary revenue from the sale of renewable gas, nutrients, clean water and carbon credits.
