Idea

TopLineSoft builds Pipe - a visual programming language that keeps deployed components inspectable and patchable at runtime, ending the black box of AI-generated code for enterprise security teams.

Current Status

Seven years of R&D behind Pipe. The formal specification - a 155-page book - reached #1 in Programming Languages on Amazon (US and UK). The IDE is in preview and the runtime is in progress. We filed 10 US provisional patents in 2025 and are consolidating them into a PCT filing. Early technical feedback has come from figures including Tim Sweeney, plus successful academic evaluation. 5 potential design partners We are now raising a pre-seed round.

Problem or Opportunity

AI now writes code faster than teams can review it. Pull requests get rubber-stamped, and teams gradually lose working knowledge of their own codebases. Two things follow: vulnerabilities are easier than ever to find and exploit, and when an incident hits production, teams are debugging code they never understood - so response takes far longer, exactly when speed matters most. Today languages make deployed code a black box: to inspect or patch it, you stop, rebuild, and redeploy. There is no way to see into running software and fix it in place.

Solution (product or service)

Pipe is a general-purpose visual programming language built so software stays transparent after it ships. Instead of text that compiles into an opaque binary, a Pipe program is a visual structure of connected components that remains inspectable while it runs - you can see what a deployed system is actually doing and patch a component in place, without a full rebuild-and-redeploy cycle. That keeps AI-generated code reviewable rather than a black box, and lets teams find and fix problems in running software fast, even code they did not write line by line. Transparency by design.

Business model

Pipe monetizes at the enterprise layer. The core language and tooling drive developer adoption - the real moat for any programming language - while revenue comes from what organizations need to run it at scale: a managed, secure runtime that keeps AI-generated code inspectable and auditable, plus compliance features, support, and deployment. Pricing follows a per-developer or per-deployment enterprise subscription. Early adoption is the wedge; enterprise security and compliance teams, who feel the black-box problem most acutely, are the paying buyers.
