Idea

Owlfred Health is a digital health companion that uses AI to analyze flare patterns by correlating symptoms, lab results, and vitals. It empowers people with chronic, invisible, and neurodivergent conditions like POTS, ADHD, autoimmune disease, and more. Designed for patients and caregivers, Owlfred offers predictive alerts, doctor ready reports, and ADHD friendly planning tools in one intelligent and compassionate platform.

Current Status

Owlfred is currently in the R&D stage of development with the company SumatoSoft. We are actively exploring strategic partnerships with a leading sleep tracking app and interested clinicians. We’ve received positive early engagement, have a growing social media presence, and a waitlist of users eager to join our beta launch.

Market

Owlfred Health targets individuals living with chronic and invisible illnesses, including autoimmune diseases, POTS, ADHD, and long COVID. Our primary users are patients seeking clarity and communication tools to better manage their health, as well as clinicians looking to gain deeper insight into patient patterns. The U.S. chronic illness market represents over 133 million adults and continues to grow, with digital health solutions projected to exceed $500 billion globally by 2025.

Problem or Opportunity

Over 150 million Americans live with at least one chronic illness, and many more with multiple conditions. These illnesses are often misunderstood, underdiagnosed, or mismanaged due to a disconnect in healthcare and a lack of pattern recognition.

Despite their prevalence, many patients are told their labs are “normal” while they continue to suffer. This highlights the urgent need for tools like Owlfred, which connect the dots between symptoms, labs, and flares, providing both physicians and patients with a clearer picture of their health.

➤ Estimated to affect ~96 to 130 million Americans, many overlapping with chronic illness numbers

➤ Up to 1 in 2 women may have an invisible illness during their lifetime Combined estimate (chronic + invisible):

➤ At least 160–180 million Americans, or ~65–70% of the adult population, are affected by one or both.

➤ Chronic illness accounts for 90% of the nation’s $4.1 trillion in annual healthcare costs

Solution (product or service)

Owlfred Health is a digital health platform designed to help patients track symptoms, vital signs, and lab results, all in one place. Our mission is to empower individuals living with chronic, complex, or invisible illnesses by uncovering hidden patterns in their health data and turning those insights into actionable care.

Using AI, Owlfred correlates symptom entries with lab trends, medication changes, and flares, providing clear visualizations and intelligent summaries that support better communication between patients and clinicians. This helps reduce unnecessary ER visits, speeds up time to diagnosis, and allows for more personalized and effective treatment plans.

Our app includes:
• A user-friendly symptom tracker with custom tags
• Lab integration and auto-interpretation tools
• AI-driven pattern recognition (e.g., flare prediction)
• Educational content to explain lab results and diagnostics
• Sharing features for caregivers and clinicians

Competitors

• Bearable, CareClinic, and Symptom Tracker – Popular among chronic illness communities but offer limited lab correlation, no AI-powered flare detection, and lack caregiver or clinician collaboration features.
• Android Health Connect and Apple Health – Serve as centralized data hubs but offer no analysis, symptom intelligence, or patient support for interpreting trends in labs and symptoms.
• MyChart and Athena Health – Focus on clinical records aggregation but are not user-centric or designed for proactive health management, especially in complex chronic care.

Owlfred bridges this gap by empowering users, caregivers, and clinicians with real-time insights, lab-symptom connections, and a platform purpose-built for chronic illness, autoimmune conditions, ADHD, POTS, depression, and other invisible illnesses.

Advantages or differentiators

Owlfred Health offers a uniquely integrative platform that combines symptom tracking, lab result correlation, and AI-driven insights to detect historical patterns that may be missed at the time of an appointment. Unlike general health tracking apps, Owlfred is built specifically for patients with chronic and invisible illnesses, such as autoimmune diseases, POTS, ADHD, and depression where traditional care often falls short.

Key Differentiators:
• AI-Driven Correlation Engine: Automatically links symptoms, flares, vitals, and lab data to provide personalized insights and alert patients to potential issues before they escalate.
• Patient-Centered Design: Created by patients for patients, with a compassionate and intuitive interface tailored to real-world chronic illness challenges.
• Clinician Collaboration Tools: Enables clearer communication with providers, reducing ER visits and diagnostic delays by offering exportable summaries and lab-pattern timelines.
• Education + Empowerment: Translates complex lab results into plain language and delivers actionable health education personalized to the patient’s condition.

These differentiators are not easily replicable without deep domain knowledge, chronic illness community trust, and a robust backend capable of handling medical-grade data analysis.

Finance

Owlfred Health plans to generate revenue through a hybrid model that includes subscription-based access for individuals ($12.99/month or $119/year) and tiered SaaS licensing for clinicians, researchers, and healthcare organizations starting at $499/month. We are also exploring partnerships and integrations that may offer revenue-sharing or licensing opportunities.

Projected revenue over the next five years is estimated to grow from <$100k in year 1 (beta launch) to $3–5 million annually by year five as we scale. Revenue will be driven by B2C subscriptions, B2B partnerships, and potential enterprise deals with academic and health institutions.

Our core costs will include product development (AI and data infrastructure), HIPPA, compliance/security, staffing (engineering, clinical advisory, staff support), customer acquisition, and cloud hosting. We anticipate operating leanly in early years, with major spend allocated toward development and go-to-market.

Business model

Business Model:
Owlfred Health operates as a SaaS platform offering tiered subscription models for individual users, caregivers, and clinicians, with potential enterprise licensing for clinics and research institutions. We are also exploring B2B partnerships with digital health apps, wearable device makers, and EMR/EHR platforms via API integration. Additional revenue streams include anonymized data insights for research (with strict privacy safeguards) and AI-driven lab interpretation tools.

Channels:
Our primary acquisition channels include organic social media, influencer collaborations in chronic illness communities, clinician referrals, and thought leadership via LinkedIn and Reddit. We’re also building a waitlist through our website and targeting early adopters through chronic illness forums and patient advocacy groups. Longer-term channels include strategic partnerships with sleep apps and symptom trackers.

Metrics:
Key metrics include waitlist growth, monthly active users (MAU), user retention rate, symptom log engagement, lab/symptom correlation events, and number of clinician-referred accounts. Success milestones also include reduction in ER visits/self-reported flare severity among users, and closed partnership deals with health tech companies.

Money will be spent on

We are seeking investment to accelerate development and early launch of Owlfred Health, an AI-powered platform that tracks symptoms, lab results, vitals, and flares to help patients and clinicians detect patterns and make faster, more informed care decisions.

Funds will be allocated to:
• Finalizing MVP development and UX/UI design
• Integrating wearable and EHR/lab data
• HIPAA-compliant infrastructure and security
• Beta testing with early users and clinical partners
• Marketing, community building, and initial user acquisition
• Regulatory and IP-related expenses
• Data science and machine learning R&D

Offer for investor

We are offering equity in our Delaware C-Corp with early entry at a favorable valuation. Investors will have a front-row seat in helping build a digital health product with real-world impact.

Opportunities include:
• Pre-seed SAFE with discount or valuation cap
• Advisory or strategic participation in go-to-market and clinical roadmap
• Optional seat on advisory or board committees

We’re open to discussions with aligned investors who value data-driven care, chronic illness advocacy, and scalable SaaS models in healthtech.

Risks

Regulatory Compliance: As a health-related platform handling sensitive data, Owlfred must comply with HIPAA and other regional privacy laws. While this is being actively addressed, delays in compliance certification could impact launch timelines.
• Data Accuracy & Liability: Relying on patient-reported data and interpreting labs carries inherent risks. We mitigate this through disclaimers, clinician collaboration, and continuous validation, but clinical misuse remains a theoretical concern.
Clinical Adoption: While early feedback from providers has been positive, integrating into clinical workflows and EHR systems may face adoption barriers without strategic partnerships.
• Competitive Market: The digital health space is growing rapidly. Although Owlfred offers distinct advantages, larger players may attempt to replicate features once we demonstrate success.
• Funding Dependency: As with most early-stage startups, Owlfred’s roadmap depends on securing initial funding (grants and/or investment) to complete R&D and launch at scale.
