Kinisi is transforming injury prevention with accurate predictions for ACL injury & beyond. Using advanced hardware and ML, we detect joint instability early, ensuring safer, smarter movement.
Current Status
-Our data has been chosen by the Orthopedic Research Society to be presented at the Industry Innovation event at the upcoming Annual ORS Meeting
-working with professional and college athletes to collect data for ML models
-working with a professional football team, performance center, multiple medical clinics to collect data and refine technology
-Currently refining Gen 1 product to be in commercial use within next 6 months
Problem or Opportunity
ACL tears are devastating with >7-fold higher risk in female athletes. The lifetime cost of ACL tears is over $100 B and continues to grow with increasing athlete, worker and recreational demands on the human knee.. The Kinisi Motion™ platform was used to develop a machine learning model to allow injury prediction to help solve this problem in the real world in real time.
Detecting ACL issues is just the beginning of our journey. Our vision spans far beyond the knee, aiming to revolutionize injury prevention by tackling all types of joint instability and even early signs of osteoarthritis.
Solution (product or service)
The Kinisi Smart Knee combines wearable sensor technology and advanced ML to transform real-life movements into clear, standardized metrics with intuitive visuals. Using Precision Joint Kinematics, it provides precise, real-time knee motion data outside labs or clinics. This data streams to the cloud, generating a knee joint Health Score and the first in world ACL (AIR) instability score.
With 98% accuracy, Kinisi AIR predicts ACL injuries before they occur, enabling preventive interventions. This mitigates joint wear and arthritis, offering a shift from injury management to prevention.
