Living and working space optimization through smart, transformable, and adaptive rooms made of connected furniture that can fit several functions in one space.
Current Status
We are an EPFL spin-off where the Founder did his PhD on the vision and the technological ground of MIROS. We started with a futuristic vision of transformable spaces and pivoted in February towards a more rational and market-ready solution focusing on office spaces. We sold our first paid rooms in June and successfully delivered in October. We are now in discussion with major stakeholders of the flexible workspace industry in Europe, Japan, and USA to industrialize our products, ramp up production and boost our marketing and sales efforts. We have several sales incoming for Q1 2025.
Problem or Opportunity
Urban populations will double by 2050 at a worldwide scale, creating a huge demand for living and working spaces. This demand leads to two primary issues: urban sprawl, which encroaches on natural environments, and high-density living, which can compromise quality of life. Existing solutions are inadequate, either requiring more construction and infrastructure expansion or forcing compromises on space efficiency and comfort. There's a pressing need for a solution that optimizes the use of existing spaces to avoid these negative impacts.
Solution (product or service)
Our solutions are smart, transformable, and adaptive rooms. We design connected furniture that can reconfigure spaces to serve multiple functions, such as turning a meeting room into individual workstations. Our products use advanced mechanisms for easy transitions, allowing users to optimize space and functionality at the click of a button. This flexible approach reduces the need for additional construction, offering a sustainable and efficient alternative to traditional static interiors while keeping the current comfort conditions and even increasing the engagement of the users.
Business model
We are selling hardware furniture products with a comfortable margin as we already outsource the production and the assembly at a large-scale woodshop. In addition, we are adding a recurring revenue with the subscription required for our customers to run the transformable rooms with the application and the space management software which is truly the brain of the room.
