Problem or Opportunity
Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) cost UK over £130 billion each year which is a significant burden to the NHS. NCDs account for around two-thirds of deaths worldwide. Smart data correlations and AI can help understand and optimise targeted intake of nutrients in individuals diets. By analysing predispositions to illnesses, we want to create food maps that contain right nutrients responsible for preventing NCDs.
By intervening early with food as medicine using AI, our solution will have true potential to prevent around 40% of premature mortality in the UK caused by preventable NCDs.
Solution (product or service)
Users’ biomarkers are essential for identifying their current-and-future health conditions. We analyse macro, micro and phytonutrients of millions of foods and ingredients. We also analyse users’ health parameters using static and dynamic data that we collect via health (and nutrition) surveys, wearable devices and blood tests.
We’re training AI to analyse users’ predispositions to illnesses and generate highly-personalised food and nutrient recommendations based on their dietary, nutritional, medical and metabolic profiles. Using food-as-medicine, we want to prevent development of NCDs
Business model
We operate with a B2B SaaS model with 2 key distinct revenue streams.
Revenue stream 1: This is our core revenue model attributed to providing food and nutrition personalisation APIs. The model involves a fixed SaaS fee of £1 per user per month plus 0.5 pence per API call.
Revenue stream 2: As part of our product development, we are developing large data lakes of various types of data. We provide analytics to our customers via APIs. We charge £0.0005 per data click.
