Idea

No Impunity delivers the funding and digital infrastructure that environmental and human rights litigation groups need but can rarely afford.

Current Status

Since its start in September 2022, No Impunity joined UCL's startup incubator and the Blockchain Founders Group, was selected as an impactful startup at the Web Summit, and secured a grant from Harm Reduction International. Our portfolio now comprises four cases spanning three jurisdictions. We have built a community of 1800 followers and a network of 10 partners dedicated to our cause. We've successfully initiated our first public case in November 2023, serving as a proving ground for our tech infrastructure.

Problem or Opportunity

Funding gap for the forthcoming surge in climate and human rights litigation: Despite a rising number of ESG lawsuits, plaintiffs face significant funding challenges, with litigation funders seeing ESG claims as a key growth area for investment in the UK and Europe.
Transparency and impact measurement challenges in ESG initiatives: The doubling of climate change-related cases since 2015 signals a transparency gap, compounded by regulatory actions against greenwashing.
Lack of avenues for ecosystem restoration, post-legal action.

Solution (product or service)

Our platform connects impact investors with vetted claims, provides claimants tools for assessing impact and facilitates remediation by mapping local development projects.

Business model

The revenue model comprises a tiered fee structure: a 3.5% fee on capital invested for human rights and environmental cases plus a 10% fee on successful resolutions, promising up to 10x returns. In restricted cases, it takes a 20% success fee from confidential corporate governance cases with selective investor funding. A subscription-based software solution to civil organizations, priced between £150 and £450 monthly, tailored to facilitate collective decision-making and impact reporting.
