Synectify captures surplus renewable energy to power carbon-negative computing, creating a global spot market for low-impact compute services and enhancing grid flexibility.
Current Status
We have a pilot system deployed in New York and have an LOI to deploy a second system in Singapore using grid-constrained roof-top solar.
Problem or Opportunity
Synectify is solving the problem of wasted renewable energy created by the variability of renewable power. We are building a global, decentralized, carbon-neutral computing platform by matching this power to customers with intensive computing needs. Simply put, are helping to optimize the use of renewable energy while providing carbon-neutral computing services.
Solution (product or service)
Synectify is building a network of hardware systems that can turn surplus energy into computing power, and a software platform that can distribute computing jobs to the hardware systems. Customers can buy time on this platform to run computing jobs, and the business earns revenue by selling this time.
Our hardware is deployed directly at the sources of power generation. By bypassing the energy grid, we reduce costs while functioning as an energy buyer during peak, over production periods for solar, wind, and other variable renewables.
Business model
Our business model can be thought of as 'Uber for compute.' We provide a platform that connects customers who need computing power with a network of hardware systems that can supply it. The hardware systems use surplus renewable energy to create computing power, which helps to optimize the use of renewable energy. Customers pay for the time they use on the platform, which generates revenue for the business. The business earns a profit by selling time on the platform and offers a unique value proposition of carbon-neutral computing.
Incubation/Acceleration programs accomplishment
We were incubated by the Graduate Research Innovation Programme (GRIP), a deep-tech incubator at the National University of Singapore. We were subsequently accepted into the Shell Startup Engine programme sponsored by Shell and run by Startup Bootcamp. We have also participated in booster programmes run by BLOCK71, Singapore and Jakarta.
