Current Status
We're currently in beta with very strong metrics:
- 40+ engaged minutes/user in the app
- 15%+ week 3 retention
- 13%+ of users playing through 100% of content
- 9% of users during period making a purchase
We plan to continue to develop and refine the experience in beta over the coming weeks, with a public launch in Q1 2023.
Problem or Opportunity
Society needs to remove 10 gigatonnes of carbon -- annually! -- from the atmosphere to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. Last year was a record year for carbon removal, but we only removed 200 megatonnes -- 2% of our goal. We must mobilize all possible resources to remove more carbon as quickly as possible.
Solution (product or service)
Hazel helps us solve our carbon shortfall by bringing an untapped asset--consumer spending--to the carbon market. We're the only solution that is focused on making it fun and rewarding for users to fund carbon removal. By creating a game experience around funding carbon projects, we aim to bring millions of users globally to the carbon market, having a significant impact on the problem.
Business model
We have three revenue streams:
a/ Carbon sales. We enable users to purchase carbon on our platform & directly impact climate change. We earn an average of 20% on all carbon sales.
b/ Royalties on all NFT sales. We earn 3% on all Hazel NFT sales, whether on ours or a third-party site. (In the future, we may sell NFTs as well).
c/ Fees from corporate partners. We're in discussions with corporate partners who may publish branded NFTs on our platform as a reward for their customers.
