Current Status
FLX Solutions is currently in pilot phase and is pre-revenue. We are finalizing pilot relationships with major firms in our Building Construction launch category including Gensler, the world’s largest architecture firm, who we partnered with and were awarded Phases 1 and 2 of the Department of Energy’s $5M EROBOT prize for minimally invasive robotic building envelope upgrade technologies. There are several large multinational construction and maintenance companies that are lined up for pilots who are excited to deploy FLX BOTs on their job sites.
Problem or Opportunity
The building construction and infrastructure maintenance industries require inspection and routine maintenance in spaces that are unsafe or difficult for humans to reach. Current practices lead to significant on-site injuries, project delays and increased expenses. Existing technologies are too large, expensive, and limited in functionality to be a viable commercial solution.
Solution (product or service)
The FLX BOT is a patented 1” diameter, collaborative robot (Cobot) used to inspect spaces in buildings and perform specified maintenance. It has a modular configuration with interchangeable links that have cameras to capture 3D BIM models and sensors that provide autonomous obstacle avoidance. Attachable end effectors including drills, grippers, or sprayers allow for real-time maintenance tasks in areas that human technicians can’t get to.
Business model
Our initial launch model is hardware sales of the FLX BOT to B2B customers with acquisition primarily through large partnerships. Next, we will offer an integrated solution that includes advanced software for data collection and processing. Our long-term revenue model will also include data monetization as we leverage information captured by the FLX BOT to deliver advanced data analysis and macro data insights.
