Problem or Opportunity
Globally, stroke is the third leading cause of disability, and requires early interventions and high intensity therapies from the hospital to home. Specifically, one of the most prevalent disabilities involve upper limb impairment, with prevalence ranging from 40-80%. Right now, there is a lack of qualified professionals and a lack of access. The total cost of stroke in the US was $103.5B according to 2016 US dollar values and the total annual costs of stroke are expected to increase by 129%, reaching US$240.67 billion by 2030.
Solution (product or service)
Kinesix·VR transforms patient access to therapy—improving both the quality of the therapy they receive and also the quantity and frequency in which they can do their therapy. Our methodology is game-changing for the conventional rehabilitation industry, the efficacy of treatments, and the efficiency of services. User will increase their attention, motivation, active participation, and adherence to therapy. Above all, they will increase the relearning process of motor skills faster, easier, and safer, all while quantifying their progress with objective metrics.
Business model
We offer healthcare providers: Clinics, Hospitals, Rehabilitation Centers, and Nursing Homes, a standardized digital neurorehabilitation service through an annual subscription license (C$6,000) per virtual reality system (Software + Hardware). With access to the complete training gallery and progression tracking. With the complete platform, we will take a commission for the sessions given, both in clinical units (intensive rehabilitation) and at home (telerehabilitation). In addition, with the HC and FDA certification, we will be able to scale the provision of services to insurers.
