Our sensor and AI technology enables better fitting products. We target the $400 billion footwear market with a measuring system for shoe developers followed by a shoe fitting solution for retailers.
Current Status
In 2021, we worked with a major pilot customer to develop the Capskin sensor sock, which can measure pressure around the foot. This year, we are building external production capacity and conducting paid projects with several footwear customers participating in our early adopter program. In three iterations, we work with them to develop our first saleable product, which we will launch in 2023.
Problem or Opportunity
Everybody knows the problem of shoes that do not fit well. They cause a lot of pain for the feet. What’s the reason? Every human body is unique, and the footwear industry today cannot sufficiently analyze the foot inside the shoe to find the cause of the pain points.
Solution (product or service)
Capskin developed with novel patented sensor and AI technology a sensor sock that can measure pressure around the foot and foot movement inside the shoe. Lateral forces on the sidewalls, toe box, and heel are very important when designing shoes, but the footwear industry cannot measure them today.
Business model
We generate business value for shoe developers by enabling a more cost-efficient development cycle using data generated by our measurement system for foot analysis in the shoe. We will sell the system on a subscription base for $15000 p.a. to footwear companies for shoe development. The global market size is 200000 systems p.a.. Our fitting solution for the retail market will help end customers to find the best fitting shoes. We will sell it to retailers on a pay-per-use base for $1 per fit analysis. 20 billion shoes are sold worldwide per year, 10% of which are in Capskin target market.
