Lylu improves the lives of millions of older people by getting them online through a tablet that is specially designed for them and that transforms well-known apps like Zoom or YouTube seniorfriendly.

Current Status

In just 3 months after product launch, we generated €35 T sales with a monthly growth rate of 200%. And people love Lylu. 90% conversion from trial period to annual commitment. 20% reach us via mouth-2-mouth. And 85% say they would be disappointed if they couldnt use Lylu. These numbers prove one thing: we have product-market fit.

Problem or Opportunity

Millions of seniors still dont use the Internet. Meanwhile, life is shifting rapidly into the digital world. The consequences are dramatic. Not being able to participate in Zoom gatherings with family or friends leads to isolation and loneliness. But why? The answer: seniors feel completely overwhelmed by the Internet. Its too complicated and not designed for them. Buying a tablet/smartphone, purchasing Internet, setting everything up, downloading apps, and finally operating it yourself - these are insurmountable hurdles for seniors.

Solution (product or service)

The Lylu Tablet is the easiest and most effortless way for seniors to get online. At the heart is our senior-friendly software: Lylu is the first solution letting seniors use popular apps like WhatsApp in a senior-friendly way. Because we adapt the Internet to their needs. What’s even better? The tablet comes with a subscription including everything seniors need to get online: unlimited Internet, insurance, free support and set up apps and accounts. The senior is ready to go - you unpack and it just works. Getting online has never been easier.

Business model

Lylu is not a hardware company, but a technology startup with a circular hardware-as-a-service model. We rent the hardware for our tablets from Grover (contracts have already been signed), install our Lylu software, and rent the whole bundle to the customer for a monthly fee of €39. In addition to subscription revenue, Lylu generates further revenue as companies can offer their services or goods via Lylu in return for a revenue share or have the opportunity to target advertising to seniors within an advertising brochure feature.
