Idea

BioLat – first fully biotechnological approach in hydrometallurgy for sustainable processing of Ni-Co Laterites.
Significantly reducing environmental impact of hydrometallurgical laterite processing.

Current Status

The project is based on previous scientific research of team members, at the moment we are looking for partner/investor in order to further develop scalable processing facility.

Problem or Opportunity

High energy consumption, CO2 emission and environmental impact of Nickel-Cobalt extraction from Laterite ores in conventional processes.

Solution (product or service)

Development of biotechnological processing of Ni-Co Lateritic ore, this will reduce environmental impact by significant reduction of CO2 emission, energy consumption and waste generation.
Development of the near zero waste process including BIOfertilization of the leaching residue. In this process Iron is not lost, it is converted to saleable final product schwertmanite.

Business model

Developing industrial scale process in partnership with mining companies where our share can be paid out as royalty or percentage of final product, so it is success based model.
