Stip - interactive budgeting, social shopping and wish-list hub and technology which allows users to purchase things they need by sharing expenses with family and friends or splitting payments in time
Current Status
Stip team has completed initial stages of idea development and customer development, finalized product prototyping and completed successful customer development at prototyping stage.
At the moment we are creating product development documentation and ready for intensive product/MVP development (code development) stage.
Problem or Opportunity
Millions of people worldwide make joint purchases - starting from family shopping or helping their friends, up to collecting money for birthday gifts, joint events and trips. But these operations have almost no support from current finance and e-commerce infrastructure. People have to use P2P transactions, inconvenient wish-lists with almost zero interactivity or run bulky GoFundMe campaigns - all of these with lack of transparency and based on trust.
Solution (product or service)
Stip is a technology and a hub application allowing to:
- transparently split purchasing invoices between different payment sources
- split invoices in time for flexible money accumulation and installment purchases
- create basic smart-contracts for purchases - like automatic purchase completion and delivery to pre-assigned address right after accumulation of the designated amount of funds
Stip can provide various services, like transparent family shopping and friends support, smart-contracted wish-lists, long-term goods reservation and installment, offline-to-online shopping bridge
Business model
Stip is free for users and takes commissions from merchants. Main sources of commission (paid services for merchants):
- Split of invoices between different payment sources
- Installment payments
- Lead generation via built-in shopping hub/aggregator.
Also Stip has an additional financial leverage by accumulating funds from pending transactions (all partly paid but not fully completed invoices).
