If you were in a new city, what app would you use to meet people for dinner in an hour? Social networks, dating apps, meetups do not offer the choice to us to meet like we have when we need cab/food.
Current Status
With 0 marketing spend, we have acquired 700 signups on our landing page. Partnered with Co-working space and 2 universities in Berlin. We also have been featured by Google for startups, Asia Berlin summit, Factory stealth mode and recently conducted in university hackathon with ESCP students. They loved it.
Problem or Opportunity
negative social impact on young generations due to social networks that have lost consumer confidence and led to divide and mental loneliness in societies creating a $400B in economic loss, lonelier younger generation and abuse of user data.
Solution (product or service)
Having felt this myself for last 8 years since living in Berlin i wanted to make human connections possible just as easy and fast as we order food or mobility. PLATONIC is a mobile application where you can instantly create a plan using pic or video (people behaviour is to save/screenshot pics of experiences they share with friends) and chat as their connections join the plan. Our big vision is to create a frictionless process of meeting people, planning outings and paying for such experiences and events in app. Without ever jumping between multiple apps.
Business model
Our full ability is to transform experiential and social commerce (B2X transaction based- event ticketing, advertising and brand placements). However at early stage we plan a freemium model to incentivize quality users through premium features and reward. (B2C)
