We are developing the first computational model for skin diversity, enabling to match each user with his/her optimal skin care considering general features, medical background and skin characteristics
Current Status
The product is still under development. A first version of the virtual skin model was created. The model was trained and validated on 42 beta-testers reviews and can successfully give treatment recommendations based on the user’s features. The system is currently running on a local server and can be used to give recommendations to the user. Our platform generates a lot of traction and interests. We are in discussion with several potential clients, two of them under NDA.
Problem or Opportunity
Choosing the appropriate product among all of the available options (over 2000 face creams on amazon) is increasingly difficult. An annoyance for many people, this problem can impact life-quality for those who are subject to side effects or suffer from background skin conditions (>⅓ of the world population according to WHO), and might refrain for example from using moisturizers or sun protection.
Solution (product or service)
Our solution is to, in a first step, provide a B2B2C SaaS personalization platform that will match each user to his / her optimal skin care treatment (optimal being defined as maximum efficiency while reducing the risk of side effects and flare-ups). In a later stage, we will leverage the data collected for providing support for dermo-cosmetic product development (including identifying new compounds of interest) and providing a tool for skin disease management (including cosmetic product recommendation and nutritional supplements).
Business model
Our virtual skin model has several applications. We are offering personalized recommendations for dermo-cosmetic products based on a questionnaire, skin imaging analysis and optional additional lab tests. In addition, our company also provides R&D support for product development to dermo-cosmetic companies.
Incubation/Acceleration programs accomplishment
We participated in “the Metziot” accelerator last May, an inspiring program which enabled us to make a lot of connections from different industries, both in terms of advisors and potential investors.
