Idea

By offering a B2B2C platform, we connect and bring together companies and candidates in a job-sharing model by matching them into an ideal fit for the role requirements. We combine the common and complementary skills of two diverse individuals in a single job-sharing position to improve continuity and availability. In that way, we enable companies to reduce the overall recruiting process which in turn improves productivity.

Current Status

We already have 30 registered candidates in our pool, 250 subscribers and members of our flexible workforce community. We have talked to more than 20 companies of different sizes who are ready to test our MVP in the next few months.
Our goal is to reach (and sign a deal with) 10 companies and 50 candidates by July 2022 for revenue of 200 K CHF.
We launched social media campaigns, a weekly newsletter, and learning and networking webinars.

Market

If we look at our first target market and that is the data science industry, we know that it will grow from today's 3 Million to way over 11.5 Million jobs by 2026 globally. We are starting from the DACH region and our goal is to own 1000 flexible positions in this market.

Currently, we are focusing on companies in the DACH market and our early adopters are companies who already recognized the need for a more diverse and inclusive workforce.

We’ve been utilizing our personal networks and we will be much more leveraging the power of our partnerships, references and community.

Problem or Opportunity

40% of employers globally spend lots of time and money on attracting "perfect candidates" for full-time positions.
On the other hand, today's generation wants much more flexibility and work-life balance, which can be achieved when they work part-time or in a job-sharing model.
Still, both candidates and companies are lacking the possibility to get together and match their needs.
That is exactly what Sharing Tribe is offering: a platform to match companies to the best talent with the best skills.
Companies get an opportunity to tap into a validated pool of highly-educated talents, shorten their recruitment process and match them into an ideal fit for the role requirements.
For example, a data analyst and a data engineer can be matched in 1 position and work and learn closely together.
In addition to helping companies find the right fit and expand their talent pool, we also contribute to their diversity & inclusion goals.
Our target profiles are not only parents and people seeking more work-life harmony, but also students, younger and older generation as well as portfolio-career seekers.

Solution (product or service)

Offering access to these diverse profiles in tech is exactly our specialty.
And this is how we do it:
As a recruiter, you register on our platform, post the job ad, and can already see and get notified what profiles would be the best matches for the job.
Talents register as well, and for them, it is like a dating service, but for jobs and to find people to share the role with. They of course also get notified about their potential matches to other people and jobs.
We are using a proprietary and unique algorithm to combine people with common and complementary hard and soft skills.
In this model, everybody wins. For companies, job-sharing is a great opportunity to increase business productivity and an excellent way to improve employee engagement and talent retention.
For talents, it is clear that they can have both: a fulfilling career and enough time for other endeavors.

Competitors

There are numerous recruiting agencies and job posting portals in Switzerland, and all use the old-fashioned recruiting methodology, which is standardized and does not fulfill the new requirements which are emerging such as an increase in work-life balance and higher flexibility.
Recruiting agencies that offer IT recruiting services to provide higher-quality service, but at a higher price with a longer wait. The only comparable option is the HR department that functions within these large organizations and which target roles directly through LinkedIn.

We compete directly with Roleshare in the UK. Their goal is to make it easy (1) for people to find a match to share a role with, (2) to find relevant shared roles, and (3) for HR and line managers to set it up. They are not a recruiting company.
Alternatives to Sharing Tribe include “We job share” in Switzerland (defined as the platform that helps to find like-minded people who are willing to share their jobs) and Tandememploy in Germany (they develop software that connects people and knowledge in organizations: to reduce silos, to network expertise and experience – and to make “new work” a reality together).

Advantages or differentiators

What distinguishes us from our closest competition is the full matching between companies and candidates that is currently not offered in the recruiting market. Not even LinkedIn does that. Also, we are integrating the extension to the login and registration on our platform that lets you source candidates directly from the best sites, including LinkedIn, GitHub or AngelList.

Also, none of our main competitors has a strong community of people with untapped potential.

Maja Schreiner, our Sharing Tribe founder, is very experienced in the ICT sector with experience of over 20 years. She designed the platform based on her own experience and offered a solution that was not addressed by the others in Switzerland. She came up with an innovative concept that brings a unique value proposition.

Finance

Our revenue model is based on
a. Advertising (companies pay for placing job ads on our platform, but also for being featured in our community events, blogs, other articles),
b. Platform subscription fees paid by companies, and
c. A commission paid by a company on every closed working contract.

Business model

Sharing Tribe has two different customer segments: Employees/Candidates (who seek role-sharing jobs) and Employers (Who are in a need of specific talent and are willing to accept candidates who share the role). Therefore, different service package will be offered for the two different segments.

Further product and business development and marketing and sales activities.

We are genuinely looking forward to extending our board of directors with dedicated and experienced serial entrepreneurs and investors.

Risks

If one of our main competitors has more money to invest in the platform business and manages to ship it before us, they might have an advantage.

Still, with our IT knowledge and full focus on the platform and not on the consulting and coaching services (like them), we are confident we have what it takes to succeed.

Won the competition and other awards

In November 2020, we won a BOLD Award given by the BØWIE, the first incubator dedicated to innovative projects in the field of gender. We won this as a recognition of our vision and the impact of our business model in the gender space.
