Idea

We produce a smart guitar with easy-to-clamp strings to make musical education less traumatic for beginners and mor accessible for people with disabilities. Our project includes also the development of the educational platform for musicians to give them an opportunity to take courses and lessons with teachers distantly. The apps will hav some features of social network for musicians, as well. The aim of the project is to make musical education accessible and interesting and to form a friendly community for musicians all over the world.

Current Status

Now we are finishing a pre-serial model of the guitar. We have the proof-of-concept, that shows the workability of our string system with sensors, and now we are working on the development of the software of the instrument.

Problem or Opportunity

Our first clients are beginners. People usually drop the guitar due to the difficulty of self-education and lack of proper resourses for it, the do not get involved into the process of the education. Our guitar has the system of education, which attracts the attention of the users due to lighted strings to make the process of studying easy. The beginners usually have a problem of many finger injuries during the studies on ordinary guitars, as their strings are hard to clamp.
Our second clients are people with disabilities and hand injuries. They are usually unable to play ordinary guitars, as such instruments require strong muscles and defined hand position. Many of such people tell about the difficulties in musical education connected with their physical state.
Fender conducted a study and found that 92% of people drop the guitar because they do not know how to start or overcome the first difficulties, and six hundred fifty million people with injuries or disabilities will never be able to play music at all.

Solution (product or service)

The solution of the problem of acessibility of music and of non-traumatic education is the model of the neck with soft and easy-to-clamp strings. We use regular guitar strings, but the guitar has built-in sensors in the neck to read the touches of the user. The sound of the guitar is software generated. Users of the device can choose different sound modes from our libraries.
To make education easier the frets of the neck are lighted up. The accessibility of education is also based on the development of an educational platform for musicians. It can be connected with the guitar to provide uses with the statistics of their practice. Students can find special courses and start their musical education online. The app also gives them an opportunity to choose teachers by different filtersand go in for music with an experienced tutor online. The app also has some features of a social network: users can communicate with each other,
