At Sense of Space, we are creating the most efficient cloud-based compression API and content creation tools for volumetric videos, web and XR. Without the need for coding or complex software, our customers can create interactive virtual experiences and share it over the web or on their chosen platforms.
Current Status
We raised investments from important VCs in the Nordics (Icebreaker VC, Nordic XR Startups). Actively working with global leading brands and companies with active pilot projects for example with AT&T, Netflix, Adways and others. We have more than 350 users on our public alpha program and releasing the beta program in the coming months.
Market
Companies providing the technology to capture volumetric video are our primary focus in the initial stage. We’re planning on licensing our API and web player to these companies, offering them a way to let their users automatically publish the volumetric captures to the web. Currently, most technology providers are not offering this service but require the users to download the files and then edit them in-game engines or other editing tools, none of which provide a WebXR solution. We have direct outreach to these clients and are in discussions with most of them (3 offers are being negotiated for API licenses).
Problem or Opportunity
Today it's only possible for a media, marketing or content company to create WebAR experiences for their campaigns by outsourcing to other companies that will handle the development, compression and distribution. Any project iteration or update needs to be checked by all the other companies, this process doesn't scale and it's difficult to manage.
Currently, volumetric video captures needs to be shared via dropbox/google drive links with multiple gigabytes of sizes, it's extremely non-efficient way to share the data - or system converts these big data files into a much smaller single file and ready to share using only a weblink or a QR-Code. When it comes to content creation, customers needs to use overly complex game engines even if they don't need 90% of the engine's features, and need to construct a whole application to further ask their customers to download and install. With our tool, they can create the content much faster since we have dedicated features, and publish to the web with a single click - being able to share the experience right away - no downloading apps needed.

At Sense of Space, we are creating the only automated pipeline for the compression and optimisation of volumetric video data, and the most efficient content creation tool for WebAR experiences using holograms. Without the need for coding, extra software and complex workflows, our customers can create interactive virtual experiences and share it over the web in webAR, without the need for downloading apps. As easy as visiting a website. This is only possible via our streaming infrastructure and webAR proprietary system.
Competitors
There are developer platforms for webAR such as 8th Wall, ARize and others, which are our prominent competitor. However, they don't manage volumetric video based content, their customers need to handle the data themselves, and they focus on developer tools that needs coding experience and highly specialised developer background. Therefore, they don't solve the outsourcing issue and the possibility for our customers to create their projects by themselves, without always needing an external company.
Advantages or differentiators
Our competitive advantage is our network connections from long term work in the field. Deep understanding of the technology and challenges, which is extremely new and difficult to handle without prior experience. The fact that we understand the pains of our customers by our own experiences: most of our competitors are still doing developer tools, made for coders, which aren't suitable for our target market. Our customers and the target-market aren't able to use developer tools and doesn't have developers in-house, that's the reason we act in the opposite direction from a pure-coding solution, creating strong UI and UX software, without the need for coding background or deep technological knowledge in order to create the projects. This way we can be accessible by a much higher number of customers around the globe.
Finance
Our revenue stream comes from our SaaS product as a subscription model, our Enterprise level subscription, including access to our conversion API. And the Pay-per-view model which is charged every time a commercial project is release publicly and generate views/streaming costs.
Business model
We license our API and Web Player with a yearly license and pay-per-conversion of the data. Our software runs on a monthly/annual subscription model and our publishing platform on a pay-per-view model.
Money will be spent on
The money will be spent on scaling the tech and business development team in order to achieve our milestones for the next fundraising round, including: To acquire Enterprise License and Enterprise API deals , guaranteeing that the market will have a constant inflow of SXRWeb files in expressive projects. To validate the go-to-market plan and gather sufficient data to prove good traction for Sense XR Studio Pro and Enterprise SaaS solution. To further develop all products in order to guarantee that we have the best cloud-based compression system in the market and the most efficient SaaS solution for WebAR and volumetric video experiences.
