Idea

A Cross Border eCommerce business of the GCC and African region where we help local and international suppliers to sell their products through our online distribution network. We have around 1M SKUs for 700 suppliers in India, Turkey, Russia, UK, USA, UAE, Saudi and Egypt where we sell their products in 27 local and international platforms such as Amazon, Noon, Carrefour, Manasah, Sharaf DG, Jumia and others in UAE, KSA, Nigeria, Egypt and Russia. We uber the eCommerce ecosystem without owning any product, warehouse, or even a website to sell.

Current Status

▪ 30 Months operation.
▪ 27 Retails websites.
▪ 12 Aggregators.
▪ 1.3M total SKUs.
▪ USD 1.1M in 2020.
▪ 41% Gross Profit 2020
▪ 4% Net Profit 2020
▪ 80 team members (Full time, Part time, Interns)
▪ Sales Channels in UAE, Saudi, & Egypt.

Problem or Opportunity

Both Suppliers and Marketplaces face many challenges when it comes to operating in an eCommerce space, but we believe that our system eliminates such. Issues are as follows:

Supplier Challenges
▪ Wholesalers do not sell through B2C eCommerce.
▪ ROI from online sales is not positive yet
▪ High Setup costs in order to sell each country.
▪ 85% of the business is offline in the MENA region.
▪ 80% of our consumer products are imported from other regions.

Marketplace Challenges
▪ High cost to acquire suppliers and products.
▪ Time lag for content creation.
▪ Only have access to local suppliers.
▪ No provision for account management to suppliers.

Solution (product or service)

Our product aims to be a system by which a supplier can list their products on our platform, and simultaneously have it live and available for purchase on every marketplace in the world, with logistics, pricing, and everything in between taken care of for them.

Competitors

Since the concept of cross border eCommerce is new worldwide, we only
have a few competitors. However, eWhale has partnered up with these ‘competitors’ to extend their eCommerce gamut. Generally they come in the form of 'Aggregators', however we partner with these aggregators to increase our catalog listing - we benefit from more organized data/ onboarding multiple suppliers at once, and the aggregators and the suppliers they represent benefit from the sales generated as a result of working with eWhale.

Advantages or differentiators

Nothing - they are a prehistoric version of one aspect of eWhale.

Money will be spent on

R&D - currently money is 'stuck' in the business cycle, we require investment to develop the sophistication of our product, including but not limited to:
- Build a new Technology Team
- Explore new markets
- Increasing volume (EoS)
