Idea

Our Intelligence as a service solves complex resource scheduling issues of data received from leading planning software, such as MS-Project and Oracle/Primavera, giving companies strategies to accelerate project milestones, shave days off projects and reduce the cost of resource overloads.

Current Status

MVP launched in December of 2020 and we were one of the twelve companies chosen to present on the Silicon Valley Founder Institute Graduation Day on January 20th, and also selected Most Engaging Startup on Brazilian Acceleration Program InvoAtiva 2020.2.

We have started pilot projects with companies Honda Lock (a subsidiary of Honda in Brazil) and TMSA (Conveyor belt engineering to order) but yet for a very small introduction fee (under USD 3,000 each) and we have received the interest of two software companies that want to board our technology with their products.

We have been accepted to the second round of the Microsoft ScaleUp program, increasing their support from USD 10K to USD 120K in credits to explore our technology and soon enter Microsoft App Market with our solution.

Awarded distinguished Startup with our early prototype in Brasilia, 2018. Awarded Top 10 Startups from Brasilia, Brazil from the Brazilian/American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham Arena 2020). Nominated top 350 Startups to the INNXBR Award (Innovation Brazil), 2020. Only Latin American company to graduate from Founder Institute Silicon Valley 2020. Selected by the Brazilian Government Agency for Exports as one of 35 companies (over 3,000 applicants) for the APEX International Mission to Portugal at Web Summit 2020.

Market

We are pursuing first the construction market in the US, more specifically we aim to reach companies that already use MS-Project and Oracle/Primavera and already have higher maturity in project management. That takes us to a market of USD $ 1.4 Trillion in commercial and industrial projects, in which we are offering our service as a "robotic staff augmentation", empowering senior scheduling planners to execute more work without depending on a team of scheduling assistants.

Problem or Opportunity

Just in construction (industrial and commercial projects) in the United States, companies waste over $160 Billion dollars due to resource inefficiency, project dates missed, and cost overruns. In other types of projects, inefficiencies represent over 12% of waste in resources.

Providing resource scheduling optimization, we assist companies to accelerate project milestones, reduce cost overruns, solve resource overloads and reduce project risks.

Solution (product or service)

Our system read files from leading scheduling tools, providing companies an alternative to optimizing the use of their resources without having to change their current planning platform, improving their ROI on current technologies while accelerating project milestones.

Competitors

There is over 500 software that competes for user attention for task management and scheduling. However, just a very few actually perform any scheduling optimization, and we can provide improved calculation even to these leading software.

Therefore, we augment other products results, instead of competing for a new implementation. ATOM is an Augmented Time Optimization Machine and providing it as a service, we in fact may expand the ROI of other tools.

Advantages or differentiators

Advanced scheduling optimization can drastically improve the results obtained in any resource leveling created with the use of leading software MS-Project and also complement types of scheduling optimization performed my Oracle/Primavera.

Also, by reading common market scheduling files, we can provide resource optimization capabilities to software that cannot perform such type of advanced scheduling service for their customers.

Finance

The cost is based on computing power, a contract manager for every 20 companies served, and a help-desk representative for every 200 projects that will be running on our platform. The customer pays a setup fee for each project and a monthly fee of 1/3 of the cost of a planning assistant. Once we reach 20+ companies,

Business model

Intelligence as a service, by collecting data on our server from scheduling tools and charging the user a setup fee and monthly subscription.

Contractors, subcontractors, and management companies in the construction segment can assist us in identifying customers. We have a deal with IEC Partners from Boston, a company specialized in internationalization, to start our inbound/outbound efforts in the US market and they will provide four months of free services until we reach our first customers, prior to paying them to continue as our business channel in the United States.

Money will be spent on

Obtaining the first 5 customers to achieve break-even; also channel distribution and continuous software improvement.

Risks

Scheduling optimization depends on highly qualified planners and we can only optimize what is somehow already intelligently built. Therefore, we must pursue companies that have some degree of scheduling maturity.

Our research indicates that for complex projects, we will reach a desirable level of maturity on 7 of each 10 projects in the United States and as little as 1 project for each 20 in countries with a lower level of scheduling maturity, such as in Brazil.

Our project thus depend on reaching the first mature companies that would put our system to a test and create successful use cases that will then assist us in gaining scalability.

Incubation/Acceleration programs accomplishment

1) Brazilian Government Acceleration Program InovAtiva 2020.2
2) Shell Power to Innovate participant, becoming resident at FabStart in Rio
3) Graduated and new sponsorship from Microsoft ScaleUp Program
4) Finalist on MIT Entrepreneurship 2018 Bootcamp
5) Only Latin American Company graduated in the Founder Institute Fall 2020 Silicon Valley Program (and one of 12 selected to final pitch)
