Idea

Enroute creates a tailored shopping platform that is integrated into mobility applications and allows ride hailing and mass transit operators to offer their customers rides for FREE. This way, the second most valuable aspect of autonomous vehicles, as estimated by McKinsey, in-vehicle monetization, can be realized today already and allow mobility services to increase their user experience, effective costs to the customer and subsequently raise customer loyalty.

Current Status

Enroute has developed and tested a working product. Having been live with Deutsche Bahn in Germany, ComfortDelGro in Singapore and Metro de Madrid, Enroute is currently expanding its operations in Europe and Asia. Besides, we are working on expanding our technological capabilities, adding features such as Click and Collect which allows customers to pick up their purchases right away from B&M stores on the way

Problem or Opportunity

As of today, mobility services (MTOs, Ride hailing) struggle to monetise the time passengers spend in their vehicles - not only a loss of possible revenues streams, but also an unoptimised customer experience. Several studies indicate that around 20% of all passengers in today's "autonomous vehicles", trains, etc. use their free time for shopping, which amounts to a global annual mobile-commerce volume of $460bn - organising this huge opportunity into a framework that allows mobility companies, customers and retailers to benefit, Enroute creates a Win-Win-Win situation.

Solution (product or service)

Enroute creates a tailored shopping platform that is integrated into mobility applications and allows ride hailing and mass transit operators to offer their customers rides for free. This way, the second most valuable aspect of autonomous vehicles, as estimated by McKinsey, in-vehicle monetization, can be realized today already and allow mobility services to increase their user experience, decrease the effective costs to their customers and subsequently raise customer loyalty. Other than existing loyalty networks, Enroute offers mobility providers an all-around solution, with access to a huge network of global and local retailers, such as Amazon, Asos, and more. With Enroute, mobility providers receive the benefits of an external provider, integrated into their (mobility partner’s) infrastructure and branding, including a more extensive network, as well as additional functions, such as Click and Collect. Click & Collect allows passengers to adapt their route and pick up articles on the way. This feature will further enhance the customer experience offered by Enroute. Furthermore, Enroute generates, polishes and provides valuable customer data, which mobility partners can easily access and use to improve their services.

Competitors

Enroute is the first one to create the intersection of mobility and shopping. There is no direct competitor. However, the closest competitors we could identify were Uber's Credit card that allows people to receive credits for future rides via a cashback mechanism and validated, a service which allows people to receive credits for ride hailing as they shop in Brick-and-Mortar shops.

Advantages or differentiators

No other company creates the intersection of mobility and retail the same way Enroute does. Vis-à-vis Uber's credit card, Enroute's advantage lies in that it can be integrated with various mobility services such as ride hailing, but also mass transport. Furthermore, we do not require customers to commit to a credit card or anything similarly binding, but are integrated into the existing digital infrastructure of our mobility partners, greatly reducing the barrier to use Enroute. Vis-à-vis Validated, Enroute provides a hybrid solution that combines the best of online shopping with B&M shops, such as in it feature of Click and Collect.
