Understandably, this has been heavily affected by COVID19 but there are still industries such as Technology, Ecommerce, Pharmaceuticals, Logistics etc. that are recruiting. Most importantly COVID19 has exposed inequities within our Global economy. The ILO stated over 25 million jobs would be lost due to COVID19, over 30 million people have filed for unemployment in the United States of America and unemployment has increased to 14.7%.

Problem or Opportunity

Securing employment is a goal we all work towards from the time we start school. This process is filled with various obstacles and uncertainties which have only been extremely increased with the COVID19 pandemic. The recruitment process itself is heavily reliant on social engagement, face to face meetings and several onboarding steps. Additionally, several recruitment agencies who rely on these principles have been forced to downsize or shutdown.

The total jobs and recruitment available market is £450 Billion, the global online market is £24 Billion and the potential share with apps for Job seekers is £243 Million. The cost of hiring one person is on average £4000 and the cost of hiring the wrong employee is over £10,000. Jobseekrs can truly help employers during this time and beyond to keep their recruitment going and shift the way the industry works beyond the pandemic. More importantly Jobseekrs is a candidate driven platform that enables all candidates to be given a chance to be employed fairly, diversely and equally. Through Applicant tracking tools and various unconscious bias filters both personal and in technologies, candidates specifically of underrepresented groups are not given a fair chance during the recruitment process. Jobseekrs’ mission is to alleviate this.

Solution (product or service)

Unconscious bias happens when you form an opinion about candidates based solely on first impressions as "like hires like". Secondly, the world of work is changing and there is a demand of new mixes of skills and tenures as well as acknowledging the power of culture in a company to make or break a business. To increase the efficiency of the recruitment process, Jamaal set out to reduce unconscious bias, put culture-fit at the forefront of the recruitment process, and increase diversity and inclusion all at a fraction of the cost to current recruitment methods.

Jobseekrs is providing a solution to both employers and candidates seeking opportunities both immediate and longer term. Jobseekrs is a web platform that mitigates unconscious bias at the sourcing and screening stage of recruitment. Our video interactive jobsite uses psychometric culture-fit questions when matching great candidates to suitable roles. It focuses on TWO important key factors when recruiting; the candidate's competency to the job and the candidate's culture-add to the company. Jobseekrs is an end to end full suite in the recruitment process

This is the perfect timing for this business as unconscious bias, diversity and inclusion has been put on the agenda as policy now asks FTSE100 companies to release diversity reports on gender and minority ethnic groups. This has been key to companies ensuring they diversify their workforce but also the recruitment process. Additionally, the recruiting space is candidate driven with higher expectations and transparency required from companies. This makes it the perfect time for this business considering current market demand from both companies and candidates.
