Idea

Our company, Intact-V aims to reduce BAME graduate underemployment among 21-30 year olds. Intact-V is developing a marketplace for Boot-strapped Start-Ups to recruit Interns with Entrepreneurial Aspirations by integrating curated experiences, with digital credentials and performance management tools in the virtual internship segment. We also hope to limit bad practice and abuse by increasing the transparency of employers.

Current Status

Started mid-May and have traction on both sides: Startups & Interns. We have 6 Startups & 13 Interns signed up since then.

- conducted some secondary research into what frustrations current and past candidates face/d before and during their internships (mainly graduate school internships)
- spoken but not interviewed 2 start-ups and a number of candidates to get a sense of frustrations and preferences on both sides of the divide
- built a Landing Page,
- drafted a first run pitch-deck
- built a crude MVP

Problem or Opportunity

- Start-ups find it difficult, costly or time consuming to recruit and manage much needed wo/manpower.
- Large corporates find it time consuming and expensive to find new recruits with entrepreneurial experience and mindsets.
- Large corporates find it difficult to enculturate entrepreneurial competences and capacity.

Advantages or differentiators

We will be basically a "Platform as a Service" for Interns & Startups not only matching them but really teaching Interns certain Skills with credentials which could be compared to "micro-Internships" + making it easier & cheaper for Startups to find, hire and train Interns easier. Since much of their efforts, money & time go into finding the right Intern & training them for weeks.

This solution could be used even for trainees and newly hired employees at Companies to make their training easier and faster as well.

We also aim to onboard underserved communities and provide them with Internships such as refugees or handicapped people since it's hard for them to access valuable internships.

Money will be spent on

Application & Platform development for both sides: Startups & Interns + Marketing.
