Idea

In light of COVID-19 pandemic, Track Virus is a platform composed of an app and a set of web services designed to track and slow the spread of viruses by providing a real-time assessment of the likelihood of any individual being infected. Initial version already experienced bottom-up demand, and top-down support by United Hatzalah, and has been adopted by well-over 100,000 people. By leveraging all users’ locations and histories, and all available and derived epidemiological data, the platform determines the risk of any individual being infected and informs policymakers – in real-time.

Current Status

Problem identified, and idea conceived, developed and launched: App developed and launched on iOS and Android. Adopted by ~200,000 people (in Israel) and experiencing ~50% daily active users (DAU). Adopted, endorsed, and distributed by United Hatzalah first responder organization in Israel. Helping/advising Israeli authorities and agencies dealing with the crisis. Company incorporated. Core IP created and will be filed as patent applications shortly. Next generation partnerships and customer deals in process.

In light of the Coronavirus / COVID-19 pandemic, everybody wants to return to normal ASAP in a risk-managed approach. Additionally:

Affected businesses (many sectors): Want to keep patrons safe & keep employees safe.

Composed of two key components:
A resident-facing App (iOS / Android) (branded or white labeled) to empower residents with:
- Personalized, up-to-date, trusted, info
- Contact tracing
- Encouraging self-reporting
- Risk scoring - for themselves and others
- While preserving privacy.

Back-end with dashboards and tools for governments and businesses:

Government-facing dashboards:
- Manage crisis: Identify gatherings of people in real time, identify hotspots of contagion, generate detailed epidemiological traces, monitor adherence to social distancing policies.
- Manage risk of return to normality.
- Accelerate recovery.

Business-facing tools:
- Manage risk (employee/patron)
- QR code scanning at entrances to venues/place of business/transportation
- Accelerate recovery

All in a privacy-preserving manner.

Risks

Time is of the essence: In this case, in light of the pandemic, one cannot overstate the breakneck pace of decision making and evolution of the buying and competitive landscape. Therefore, any misstep in execution and lack of focus are a risk. Furthermore, ability to scale and serve the global demand will invariably leave room for competitors to get traction. So this will remain a competitive market for a while.
It is important to understand, however, that this is not a winner-takes-all market - and therefore, many players could thrive with solutions in different geographies, primarily.
