Idea

uLouder brings what is around to your reach with a digital megaphone right in your pocket.
The hyper-local platform connects end-users instantly and automatically, by a self-determined geographical radius to seek information, publish stories or make announcements.
The mobile application is also connected to a SaaS digital billboard utilized within bars and events to engage the crowd.

Current Status

uLouder reached more than 72000 registered users and over 140000 posts so far.
However, most users a scattered over the USA, Turkey and Germany and as any platform, uLouder faces the famous ‘chicken and egg’ problem (no users without content, no content without users).
To grow a dense and vivid user base a local marketing campaign is needed to reach the critical mass once and leverage the network effect from there.

Problem or Opportunity

Millennials and GenZ crave for community closeby and suffer extensively from "FOMO" (fear of missing out).

Solution (product or service)

uLouder addresses both dilemmas by connecting users instantly with the people that are around according to a self-determined radius. Thus, uLouder users can meet new people, find their lost items or even pets, discover events, hot-spots and spontaneous happenings, get urgent alerts and receive great offers by local shops.

Competitors

Twitter and Facebook are leading social networks, however, they lack the connection with their immediate surroundings. While some Facebook-groups have a focus in local common traits, they still can be joined by anyone around the world and are not flexible in their location on its own.
Nextdoor (received a $2.1B valuation) is hyperlocal but fixed to neighborhoods. uLouder moves with you and allows you to connect with your surroundings also when you are at work, on campus or traveling.
Yik Yak showed the potential of a platform like uLouder by reaching nearly 2 million users within one year (2014). However, they shut down due to the users' anonymity resulting in the app being associated with bullying and discriminatory speech. uLouder registers their users with their real name and curates its content through NLP algorithms.

Advantages or differentiators

uLouder is the only network that is hyper-local, flexible and trustworthy. After reaching a critical mass, the network effect would establish a natural barrier of entry.
