Our main competitor works on a different business model as it only sells books directly from publishers. Earlier this year they have opened to business like ours the used as new book sell, adding 2k in extra revenue per month selling out of stock books. This margin can increase over 50% if we offer a wide range of books that are out of stock and we have access to it.
Advantages or differentiators
The main difference is the quality/cost/offer we provide daily to our customer base. We have secured various stock vendors that supply tittles that are only available via Casa dos Livros. The business format is recognized as Casa Dos Livros and very trusted by all our customers. We have several requests to sell International, however we have no structure at the moment and our focus is to be market leader in Portugal before aiming to International markets. It is important to mention that the tax rate for books is only 6% in Portugal

Our revenue is mainly via our social network with daily auctions. We have also partnered with other marketplaces that generates other sources of income. Our costs are situaded in the 5k mark per moth including all expenses to purchase/promote/list/send.

Our business model is to offer a range of books, new and as new on auction format. We also offer books at direct sale 30% less expensive as major retails. Our massive presence started on our social page Facebook, we were the first business in Portugal operating the auction style book sales. We currently have 30k daily followers on our auctions. Increasing the offer and promotion we can increase massively customer base and offer.
