Stratio is an AI-assisted Ge-based SWIR sensor company that is mainly targeting ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), precision farming, carbon detection, and textile/plastic sorting industries.
Current Status
Stratio has ~$ 200K in revenues from selling its VIS spectroscopy LinkSquare 1 and NIR spectroscopy LinkSquare NIR. Sales have come from large corporations, universities, research laboratories as well as government agencies from 25+ countries to date. At the end of October 2022, we successfully launched BeyonSense 1, a 128 x 128 resolution Ge SWIR sensor camera, which is expected to achieve sales of over $ 50K per month moving forward. In addition, Stratio’s in-house Sensor Foundry also provides us with an additional revenue stream which is expected to reach >$ 2M in 2023.
Problem or Opportunity
As a company, Stratio’s goal is to bring infrared imaging to the mass market by addressing unequal access to this technology. Infrared imaging technology has long been too expensive, complicated, and bulky for the general public to benefit from. However, with the use of our proprietary germanium (Ge) sensors instead of the current InGaAs standard, we have developed a product that is smaller, much less costly, and more user-friendly than current technology on the market and made accessible to the general public feasible.
Solution (product or service)
The high cost of InGaAs SWIR image sensors restricts the potential customer base of the global SWIR imaging market. To purchase just one InGaAs SWIR camera, individuals must spend a minimum of $25,000 and up to $130,000. However, the world's first Ge SWIR camera, BeyonSense, puts the power of SWIR technology in the palm of the user's hand. With Stratio's patented technologies and dedicated sensor foundry, BeyonSense is not only 5 times lighter and 10 times more energy-efficient than InGaAs cameras, but also 20 times more cost-effective.
Business model
Stratio is currently focusing on strengthening our B2B and B2B2C sales &marketing by growing our marketing resources and relationship management capabilities. Stratio is also focusing on raising funds to expedite the mass production process for the Ge sensor, develop LinkSquare SWIR as well as perform aggressive sales & marketing to deploy a large volume of BeyonSense units. Additionally, through our dedicated Sensor Foundry (STNF, stnf.io/), we have attracted business from both local, and large companies in Silicon Valley, and we have helped these companies in building their own sensors.
