With BreezeRay, CT scans are more accurate, and it is possible to detect cancer earlier. Our technology can create crisp, clear images by splitting the x-ray beam into tens of small beams.
Current Status
We spoke to countless physicians, leaders, and hospital controllers. With these inputs, we designed a proof of concept. We created a collaboration with a leading research laboratory at Johns Hopkins University to test our technology. We patent our technology. We came up with a vital business model based on market data. We privately invested $850K.
Problem or Opportunity
CT image quality is one of the most critical parameters to consider. The quality of the image allows for early detection and accurate diagnosis. The CT industry invests billions of dollars in improving the quality of CT images to meet this need.
Solution (product or service)
In any camera, the quality of the image depends on the quality of the illumination. Better illumination, with more angles and accurate control, creates better images. Today CT has only one source. Our technology splits this single beam into tens of smaller beams. We can achieve the best image by precisely controlling the amount of light that goes into each organ and region. Consequently, we can also reduce the harmful radiation by 70% and decrease the total scanning time, so that a CT scanner can scan six patients per hour instead of four.
Business model
Retrofit our technology to the current install base. This allows a five-year-old scanner with a market value of $20K to perform better than a new, $2M scanner. In addition, it will increase the number of scans from 4 scans per hour to 6 scans per hour.
