Idea

Fresh and locally grown organic shrimps during 365 days of the year.
The project of our indoor farm is designed considering the reuse of 98% of the water and zero waste management.

Current Status

Our company, in cooperation with a foreign consultant for shrimp farming, developed an indoor shrimp farm project. This project involves growing Pacific white shrimp using an innovative method.
Apart from the commercial interest, the above-mentioned facility will contribute to the development of intensive aquaculture in Georgia. At this stage, our company has an agreement with a private investor who will provide 70% of the capital needed for the implementation of the project.

Problem or Opportunity

Currently, customers in Georgia, who are willing to purchase shrimp have only one option – imported, frozen, packaged products.
The price of these products is much higher than their quality.
Unstable supply and seasonal prices in retail stores.
Traditional farm-raised shrimps contain antibiotics and other non-organic and unhealthy supplements.
The wild-caught shrimp industry has a damaging environmental impact due to deforestation, bycatch and decreased biodiversity.

Solution (product or service)

Georgian-made, always fresh, unfrozen shrimps, raised on a high-tech indoor farm.
100% ecological product, without antibiotics and unhealthy supplements for a fair price.
Available 365 days of the year, for a steady price.
98% of water reuse and waste management system.

Business model

Eco Aquaculture plans to import Pacific white shrimp post larvae from a Florida-based hatchery Bench Mark Genetics, one of the outstanding and reliable companies in PL business.
After receiving the post larvae, a 3-month growth cycle begins, which involves nursery and grow-out phases. After 3 months local customers will have an opportunity to purchase fresh, unfrozen, and 100% organic shrimp.
