A social e-commerce platform combining the best features of social networking with a game changing ability to buy as a group and shop socially with your friends, family and contacts.

Current Status

I am looking for seed-stage investment in SalePal App. I currently have a clickable proto-type demo, financial forecast and pitch deck ready to approach potential investors.

Problem or Opportunity

The problem for consmers:
- Unable to shop online together and use each others experience to buy products
- No flexibility when finding discounts on deals, as prices are fixed
- Unreliable or Fake Reviews

The problem for online retailers:
- No channel to sell in volume easily and turn stock faster
- Lots of competition with no ability to differentiate in any way
- Prohibitive costs on existing platforms


Solution (product or service)

Create Social Shopping where users can meet, join groups, share experiences to buy products and notify each-other of deals
- invite friends, family or others and purchase products as a group, taking advantage of bulk discounts offered by retailers
- real time, real person, review of the product
Online Retailers:enables retailers to sell in bulk, and offer incentives for consumers to take advantage of a one-time discounted offer, creating a sense of urgency for users to get the discount- Retailers can structure their own social pricing deals which will differentiate them from the competition

Competitors

The Social Shopping market includes Facebook, Instagram and TikTok

Discount Price shopping competitors including high street supermakets such as Lidl, Wilko and Savers along with Costco. Online competitiors would include Pinduoduo, Facily and Groupon.

Advantages or differentiators

For Consumers:
- First to Market to offer Social Shopping with friends, family and online contacts

- Offer more realistic social discount pricing (not software based)

- Paid users will invite family and friends to take advantage of group pricing deals, at no extra cost to the retailers

For Retailers:
- Bulk sell products quickly

- Differentiate themselves by structuring their own social pricing deals

- Significantly cheaper than other channels

Finance

Cash burn to max out at month 16 of trading at circa £650k - £700k, and turn positive at month 28 - 30. Although, as it will take circa 6 months to build the App approx. £180k of the funds will be required in the 6 months preceding trading.

Business model

Digital marketing spend brings in monthly downloads, with a Cost per Install of £2.15, which reduces over time as the marketing becomes more effectiveCirca 10% of downloads convert to Active users
The active user base will invite their friends and family to join the groups to take advantage of the social pricing. This will grow the user base significantly, and will effectively amount to free marketing for the company
Revenue will be generated by charging retailers - A sales commission of 7% on the monthly net sales value and a subscription fee of £10 per month, with the first 12 months free

£520k to Business setup costs: legal, compliance etc, Marketing spend, strategy and testing, Staff costs, Running expenses
