Idea

Krusti Foodkits is a digital on-demand platform which delivers restaurant-quality food kits made out of half-prepared ingredients, which can be made in less than 15 min at home. We provide a fun, convenient, sustainable and more affordable alternative to take-away food. Our aim is to disrupt the take-away industry by creating a new food category: half-prepared restaurant meals with simple instructions wrapped in playful sustainable packaging. All of our packages are reusable and/or compostable.

Current Status

generated 40k revenue so far, served more than 1,000 customers in Helsinki

In modern society time to make food is scarce due to our hectic lifestyle. Delivery platforms have made it so convenient to us to get a wide range of warm satisfactory meals at nearly zero effort.

For this reason, the food delivery industry is one the fastest growing industries in the world representing a 300 billion market, a trend accelerated during the pandemic.

However, as most of us still clean their home while they could afford a cleaner, we want to cook our own food most of the time. the reasons for that take away does not always fulfil our emotional and social needs relating to food. Plus it is often considered as unsustainable, end up being quite expensive for families and does not feel like our own.

Krusti delivers home restaurant-like premium meals in the form of half-prepared easy-to-make foodkits wrapped in 100% compostable or reusable packaging. Krusti turns cooking into an emotional and social experience without compromising convenience, taste and authenticity.

Our main competitors are take-away services i.e. Wolt, Foodora that doesn't meet the social and emotional needs of people.

Our secret sauce is the contribution effect: by putting a little bit of effort into making your own meal, you end up appreciating it even more than if you would have bought it ready made.
