YLive is a biotechnology startup that develops solutions for animal nutrition and health using artificial intelligence. We offer a digital platform to predictively identifying animal health and welfare problems to help industries and farmers to make the best management decisions for each farming system.
Current Status
Our company has a digital platform that uses artificial intelligence as a product, which is being sold on the market, so we are at the operating stage of the company. Our customers are farmers and agricultural cooperatives, in addition to veterinary industries with a portfolio of products for animal health and nutrition. We currently have "x" customers.
Market
The global veterinary market size was estimated at USD 29.2 billion in 2020 and is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.4% from 2021 to 2028. The market for biological products has been growing around 10% a year for over a decade worldwide. In Brazil, this market moved around U$ 100 million in 2017. The microbiota market in the agriculture field was estimated at U$D 10.0 billion in 2018.
Problem or Opportunity
Subclinical diseases, biosecurity and animal well-being represent up to 70% of herd performance losses around the world. These are "silent" signals, which means that farmers and veterinary professionals are not able to identify these problems using regular methods to adapt the animal management and to change products used in livestock to solve it. In fact, there is a huge demand for technological tools that help industries and farmers to practice precision livestock.
Solution (product or service)
We offer a digital platform to predictively identifying animal health and welfare problems to help industries and farmers to make the best management decisions for each farming system. Our platform analyzes genetically the animal gut microbiota and identifies “signatures”, or microbiological biomarkers associated with health and performance. We provide our service through three digital products: 1– Farming System Analyze (FSA), designed to farmers to analyze and qualify the creation system; 2 – Product Performance Analysis (PPA), designed to industries known the mechanism of action and performance of veterinary products; 3 – Product Performance fit (PPF), designed to industries to recommend veterinary products for each customer or farmer. FSA and PPA products are charged per use, while PPF product is charged through monthly fee.
Competitors
Some of our direct competitors are national or international startups that develop probiotics searching for sustainable solutions, they are: Genobiomas, which focus on pigs healh; Native Microbials, which develops products for farming animals and pets; Bactana, that creates healthy microbiomes for all farming animals; and Rebiotix, which focuses on developing new probiotics for humans with specific infections and running tests on existing probiotics.
Advantages or differentiators
YLive is pioneer in combining biotechnology and artificial intelligence to evaluate farm systems, transforming the developed methodology into a business intelligence. We brought microbiota analysis to the veterinary market, a methodology that genetically evaluates bacteria in the animal digestive system, and we use it as an indicator of performance and health. Our proprietary algorithms are able to identify, with up to 95% accuracy, factors that interfere with animal health performance, such as supplementation, sanitary status, incidence of diseases or stress conditions, and assist the producer in reducing the use of inappropriate products, such antibiotics. We provide a customer-centric experience to an industry marked by slow, costly and academic processes, to analyze and recommend products and to practice precision livestock farming. Our farm animal databases around the world allow us to work with precious data in the future for customizing performance enhancing veterinary products.
