Idea

Dawa Pay is a tech-enabled platform facilitating online and offline orders for drugs from small pharmacies and mobile money payments with free delivery. We have over 128 pharmacies in Nairobi on our platform and have generated a General Merchandise Value of $70,000 since we launched in Jan 2020. Dawa Pay has also partnered with Pharm access (Medical Credit Fund) to provide access to affordable and flexible business credit to pharmacies with a 6 months repayment period.

High Cost of medicine: Leads to high death rates from curable diseases.

Broken pharmaceutical supplies value chain:Delays in delivery, waste of time and increase of stocks out.

Lack of credit scoring system – small pharmacies cant access business stock finance.Increase in low quality generics in the market.

A tech-enabled platform (Mobile App) facilitating online and offline (SMS) orders for drugs from small pharmacies and mobile money payments (M-pesa) with free delivery.

Our competitors are existing wholesale distributors who rely on manual paper based distribution channels.

We rely heavily on technology and data to reduce inefficiencies in manual paper based processes. So we save on costs and eliminate frequent stock outs of medicine.

We charge a transaction fee on every successful transaction

o B2B- We charge a 4% fee on the total cost of medicine ordered by the pharmacies.
o A USD 100 activation fee for wholesalers for the on boarding process
