karmakurier is social platform solution bridging the gap between people in need and helpers providing an easy to use and safe possibility to get help in everyday errands like shopping. At the core of the solution are a contactless payment system a karmapoint-system rewarding the helpers and the accessibility of the platform via phone and web.

Problem or Opportunity
Each of us can suddenly become, or already is, a person in need of help. Officially, 2.6 million people in Germany are classified as needy without any direct entitlement to state care assistance - and the trend is rising. Our own parents or grandparents, mobility-impaired neighbours or friends and acquaintances who belong to a health risk group. The number of at-risk patients in times of Covid-19 is now adding to the problem. We are therefore all dependent on support sooner or later.
On the other hand, the current crisis shows the solidarity of each individual. Many people can and want to act courageously, but do not know how to reach people in need of help.
Our goal is that all needy people with and without technological skills and across generations, are ble to reach and shop for everyday items without danger and in a self-determined way. In order to make it easier to help and to make asking for help more natural, we want to offer this platform and also give the everyday heroes the recognition they deserve.
Solution (product or service)
With karmakurier we approach those seeking help directly: we make it possible to contact the helpers by telephone and thus personally. The request is transcribd by the helper into the database and can then be found online and locally. Of course, it is also possible to enter a request directly via the website. We want to create trust by enabling a contactless, transparent and secure processing of the reimbursements. A fund will be set up for helpers to secure expenses incurred. The reimbursement of costs will be made after a comparison of the shopping list with the submitted receipt, either in cash, via a credit account, or via established payment systems. Helpers receive karma points for their work, which they can redeem with local and regional economic partners. We want to strengthen the idea of solidarity and lower the inhibition threshold to ask for help.
This platform further offers to connect the local and global economic partners to our helpers via the karmapoint system. In addition connecting with professional carriers we offer a permium service for faster delivery of the errands.
