Although the agriculture has been able to increase food production by using toxic pesticides, it has not made headway in reducing overall losses caused by insects. Fruits and vegetables’ security are important objective for all nations – indeed for the world. Equally important are management strategies that achieve the objective without disadvantaging others or damaging the environment. Since pesticides are not bio-degradable, are highly toxic and find their way into ground water my prototype chases insects away, without having to kill them which ensure an uninterrupted ecosystem cycle.
Current Status
Prototype with successful experiments in Malaysia,Turkmenistan and Russia.
Problem or Opportunity
World agriculture is now entering a very trying era it is because our numbers are expanding. It is expected to reach 9.2 billion in 2050 (United Nations). This number implies an increased demand for fruits and vegetables. So it shows that world agriculture faces with a challenge of increasing fruits and vegetables production. The main barrier for success in increasing production of fruits and vegetables are insects.
Solution (product or service)
The system will just chase insects away, without having to kill them which ensures an uninterrupted ecosystem cycle.
Competitors
Agriculture around the world for food production using toxic pesticides.
Advantages or differentiators
We must understand that most pesticides create some risk of harm to humans, animals, or the environment because they are designed to kill or otherwise adversely affect living organisms. We should also never forget that pesticides are supposed to kill. The problem is that they kill everything beside what they are supposed to kill. My equipment just chases the insects away and protects the fruits and vegetables.
