We are revolutionizing the transport system in Africa while reducing carbon emission and congestion, by introducing a sharing system of E-scooters.
Current Status
We have concluded the development of the Helgg mobile app. We have also taken surveys in ten Universities and have gotten over 2000 responses that show that students want E-scooters in their schools. We have contacted Covenant University and sent our business proposal
Market
We are targeting University students and Estate residences as these places would be more ideal to set up an E-scooter sharing system in Africa. We are targeting both genders and mostly 16 - 34 years old as these people rely more on the transit system and move around more. In Africa, there are over a 1000 estates and 1181 Universities as well, giving us a perspective of over 40 million users
Problem or Opportunity
• High Carbon emission from automobiles- there are over 1.015 billion vehicles in the world, 12 million in Nigeria alone. A single car releases 5.2 metric tons of CO2 a year
• Congestion caused by the number of owned vehicles- for example Lagos, Nigeria. Many cars are in Lagos which contribute to severe traffic and a lack of adequate parking spots
• Inconvenience of transit systems- in vast Universities most students have to walk to their classes, which could be a 15 to 20 mins walk because they either do not have cars or the shuttle system is late and can not cater for everyone's need at the same time, the same applies in the streets and cities in Africa
Solution (product or service)
Helgg would be starting by providing everyone in Estates and University campuses with a sustainable transportation option that complements existing transit systems and reduces their reliance on them. Our fleet of Shared E-scooters are fully battery power, so no CO2 emission. They are tiny in size compared to a car and can be easily parked, so no congestion, And they provide personal flexibility for each rider, so no need to wait at a bus stop.
Competitors
our competitors are shuttle buses, private vehicles, and walking
Advantages or differentiators
E-scooters are more convenient than shuttle buses,
less expensive than private vehicles,
much more comfortable than walking.
E-Scooters are perfect for short and long journeys,
Cost and time effective,
Environmentally friendly,
Easy to park
Finance
We are using a rental and subscription model for our users. They could pay per ride for $0.52 which lasts about 15 minutes or go for our pro and premium plans for $3.89 and $15.54 respectively
We project a monthly revenue of $29,400 per 100 E-scooters, $350,000 at the end of the year. With 1000 E-scooters we could have $3530000 a year.
Business model
Marketing:

All would be done with the Helgg mobile app and the E-scooters
Money will be spent on
to launch a testing phase, integrate the mobile app into the E-scooters then deploy a 100 E-scooter. The money would be spent on; Electric Scooters, IoT sims, Monitoring Equipment, Spare parts, Server cost, Safety Helmets, road equipment, Electricity, and Parking Structure
