Hello, I’m Mesakh Richard Dumais, 38 y.o., I’m an Indonesian citizen and I live in Jakarta, Indonesia. I’m a Producer as well as a Professional Filmmaker for 12 years. Media, television, and film is my passion as well as my work.
I would like to produce a series of documentary films (With Netflix’s standards and style) and sell the films to Netflix. Currently, Netflix is looking for lots of fresh and unique documentary films produced by Independent filmmakers from around the world.
For more details, please check my presentation. Thank you.
Currently, it is still at the Ideas and concept stage.
But before that, I have produced several documentary films. Below is a link from my previous work: https://youtu.be/82_jZoJFEmU
All ages, Worldwide.
Problem or Opportunity
Netflix is in constant need of fresh content to update their catalogue, and their spending for unscripted/documentary content is increasing every year (current estimate: $350-million and increasing to $1.1 billion by 2025!).
To keep up with demand, Netflix buyers are seeking outstanding independent filmmakers and documentary creatives who can deliver the stories that Netflix wants.
Other Filmmakers from around the world.
I have never been afraid of competitors because every filmmaker has their own unique story and concept.
My competitors don't have the concepts, stories, and unique material that I have right now.
Advantages or differentiators
This is my advantages:
1. Most filmmakers in Indonesia are not very interested in documentary films. They are more interested in making YouTube content or produce a Feature film (Drama or Fiction).
2. Indonesia has more than 1,000 ethnic groups with their respective cultures, ceremonies, languages, and lifestyles. So I have a lot of unique material and stories that I will turn into a documentary film. Also, all this unique material and story, not owned by filmmakers in any country.
3. Only a few filmmakers in Indonesia know that Netflix is looking for lots of fresh and unique content worldwide to update their catalogue.
Usually, Netflix will pay a documentary film with a price ranging from USD 30,000 to USD 50,000 per film, depending on the story and duration.

Solution (product or service)
I would like to produce a series of documentary films (With Netflix’s standards and style) and sell the films to Netflix.
I have a lot of stories to tell. Stories about the diversity of Indonesian culture, traditional ceremonies, traditional handicrafts, tribals lifestyle, and much more.
As long as the documentary film is produced according to the standard and quality set by Netflix, and the story is interesting and unique, I am sure, Netflix will buy my documentary film, because they need to update their catalogue.
