Current composite materials are sensitive to cracks, need expensive maintenance and are hard to recycle. At CompPair, we were inspired by the self-healing properties of the human body and developed preimpregnated textiles for manufacturing composites that can be healed repeatedly with a simple heat gun. Our solution cuts repair time from hours to minutes, extends product-life and makes the recycling process more efficient. CompPair brings on the market healable and sustainable composite material solutions to improve circularity.

Europe

Our product is now industrialized and we started the sales process in Q1 2020. With high commercial traction, first use cases will be validated during summer 2020. CompPair obtained various non-dilutive funding as well as various awards (including the Solar Impulse Efficient Label Solution for the first product).

Composite materials, used in windmills, sports, energy generation or transportation, have a design limitation when they are subjected to damage. Users can either repair or replace the part. Both choices imply high costs and a negative ecological impact.

Answering problems of durability and sustainability, CompPair drastically reduces maintenance costs, improves recycling of composite parts while keeping standard specifications. CompPair products are preimpregnated textiles integrating a novel chemistry to produce healable and sustainable composites; extending their life-time and improving circularity. We will expand the product portfolio to hit the entire industry. Our innovation is a structural composite that (i) has an improved crack resistance, (ii) can repeatedly heal damage, (iii) is compatible with current manufacturing and (iv) improves the composites recyclability.

Even though CompPair is entering a blue ocean market with a product having functionalities yet unseen, there are competitors. We therefore need to consider as competitors, any company producing and selling preimpragnated textiles. T

Composite materials with improved crack resistance are now a standard albeit expensive product. CompPair material has such property intrinsically while also providing semi-autonomous repair.

During its growth, CompPair will be exposed to several risks. To be proactive and preventive, we listed the different factors that could affect our company from minor to critical.

Our seed round aims to secure our marine and sport market penetration, generating 2 product families, and complementing our team.
